Georgia Week 6-7

This week I continued colouring in the final inked images for the pitch bible.

I cleaned up the scan of Constance 

I colour picked a palette for Kaka from an image of a real Kaka

I tried a few different colour combinations/placements on Kaka before I found a concept that I was happy with and I felt represented both the style of our pitch bible and the colouration of a real Kaka.

I coloured the characters on the cover and either Martin or Zac are going to colour the background.

Episode 1

After colouring episode one I put a red gradient box over the top and looked at different blending options to make the image more moody. Even though I do like the first image we decided as a team to stick with our bold coloured original.

I used the colour tool on Illustrator to help me choose monochromatic, analogous and complementary colours.

Looking at which of the colours Illustrator picked out suited the rest of the image.

We decided on plain, single coloured panels that use a detail colour from the character and help them pop off the page.

Developed Layout

Zac sent me the cover image in the wee hours of Tuesday morning. When I opened it before class to put it into the pitch bible I decided to quickly make some changes that would make it look a bit more refined, such as: altering/re-drawing the text, erasing some of the light fall on Kizzy's hair to give it some depth, adding more of a glow to the horseshoe and also the clouds so that they meet less awkwardly with the ground, changing the colour of the book to match the book in the episode page, adding another tentacle to balance the image, and adding in periods/fullstops to the tagline.
